Balloon flight

Is the balloon flying today?

Every morning just before opening time and several times throughout the day, our pilots conduct a test flight to check if ballooning is possible. Using measuring instruments, they determine the color of the day: Green: ideal, no wind at altitude, time to gain altitude! Orange: ballooning is possible, but it could stop at any moment if the weather changes, so let's take advantage of it right away! Red: it won't be today! They take into account the wind at altitude, storm cells within a 50km radius, the presence of cumulonimbus clouds, etc. Our pilots have practical and technical training, and even a license to fly. It's a real job! Are you here mainly for the balloon flight? Check our website from 10am, we can tell you if the flight is available.

Will the balloon be flying in 3 weeks?

Maybe! It's impossible to predict the specific weather conditions for a tethered balloon flight in advance. We'll only be able to tell you in the morning if the balloon flies for the day.

There's no wind, but the balloon stays on the ground. Why?

Our park is located at the foot of the Vosges Mountains. It's very beautiful, but very windy at altitude! Even when you don't feel it on dry land, sometimes you only have to rise a few dozen meters to be tossed around! Likewise, in very hot weather, especially in the afternoon, we're not immune to sneaky gusts of wind that seriously compromise balloon flights. Several times a day, our pilots conduct a test flight to check if the conditions have changed. They're as eager to fly as you are, but safety comes first!

Is there any compensation if the balloon doesn't fly?

If the balloon has to stay on the ground due to bad weather, we offer a virtual reality flight to discover the Park from the sky! This experience takes place in the balloon platform itself.

An expired ticket

First of all, carefully check the validity date on your ticket. If your ticket has expired, here are the different scenarios:

A ticket from 2024

Your 2024 tickets (excluding free invitations or competitions) can be extended for the entire 2025 season for an additional €5/person. Simply present your ticket at the ticket office on the desired day of your visit and pay the difference.

An expired GROUPON ticket

If your group ticket is from 2024 but has expired, you can extend it for an additional €5/person directly at the Park ticket office.

A ticket from before 2024

Tickets from before 2024 cannot be extended. I made a mistake when purchasing my MALIN ticket and I want to change the date. Is this possible?

MALIN tickets cannot be returned or exchanged. If you wish to change the date, you will need to pay a €5 surcharge directly at the Park ticket office.

I won't be able to use my ticket again before the end of the season. Can I use it next year?
If it's not a free invitation, you can reuse your tickets next season for an additional €5 per person. There's no need to do anything; simply present your admission ticket at the Park ticket office on the day of your visit to request an extension.

Accessibility to attractions

What age group is the park aimed at?

Our park is primarily aimed at all children, but also at all those who were once children and have retained their inner child. Most of our young visitors are between 2 and 12 years old, but there is no upper age limit for enjoying the poetry of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's work.

Is there a height requirement for all the attractions?

Whether you're tiny or giant, everyone will find something to enjoy at the Parc du Petit Prince! However, there are some regulations that define a minimum height for certain attractions. Our thrill rides (The Drinker's Aerobar, Night Flight, Underwater Planet, and The Serpent) are accessible from 1 meter (South Atlantic and Thunderstone 95 cm) for accompanied children. Have you already taken a look at the map? You'll find all the details there! Safety first! Our playgrounds are sometimes subject to an age limit: the zip line, part of the citadel, and the large swing will delight children aged 6 and over. But what's good for little ones is also good for older ones! Our inflatable structure is only for children under 1.20m tall. Children are under the responsibility of their parents.

Is the park suitable for children under 1 meter tall?

It's never too early to discover the magical world of the Little Prince! With free admission, your child will have the pleasure of traveling from planet to planet, discovering age-appropriate attractions and activities, and will even have the chance to ride our signature attraction: the balloon! We particularly recommend the following attractions: Interstice, The Little Prince and the Stork (at the Little Theater), Tame Me, the Little Train, the Animal Shows, the Aérosel, The Little Prince 3D, the Volcano, the Boa Constrictor, the Citadel, Leapfrog, Desert Dew, Draw Me a Sheep, Metamorphosis, the Labyrinth, and more.

Is the Park accessible to people with reduced mobility?

Under certain conditions, our attractions are accessible to people with reduced mobility, including our flagship attraction: the balloons! If you take a look at our map, you will see the accessibility details. We have introduced the Prince Pass. This is a wristband-style pass reserved for people with disabilities that allows the recipient and three companions to skip the line at the attractions. This pass is issued at the ticket office on the day of arrival upon presentation of a disability card. The attractions that operate with the Prince Pass are indicated on a small document that will be provided to you at the ticket office. In some cases, the specific line is indicated by a small Prince Pass sign; in other cases, simply contact the operator to gain priority access.

Am I too tall/too heavy to enjoy the attractions?

If you can board our attractions while respecting our safety conditions (for example, keeping the harness or handrail closed), then you can fully enjoy all of our attractions! Only the Trampolin Park has a maximum weight limit of 120 kg.

My child is in a cast. Can they enjoy the attractions?

People wearing casts are not allowed on our thrill rides. Can my child enter the Park without an adult?

Minors under the age of 16 cannot enter the Park without the presence of an adult for safety reasons.

I'm pregnant, which rides can I ride?

All thrill rides are strongly discouraged during pregnancy.

Reserving a box

Do I need to reserve my admission ticket?

No reservation is required to access the Little Prince Park.

Should I reserve my ticket by phone or email?

If you have a ticket, no reservation is required in advance. Make sure your ticket is valid at the Little Prince Park by checking directly with the ticket seller. Then simply go to the park ticket office on the day of your desired visit and exchange it for tickets.

Food catering

Can we eat in the park?

It's even recommended! Whether you prefer sandwiches, hot dogs, fries, tarte flambée, vegetarian dishes, a cafeteria menu, ice cream, or typical Alsatian cuisine, there's something for everyone. Nine unusual dining options are available throughout the park and at the tavern.

Can I bring my own picnic?

No problem! Numerous shaded areas are available so you can enjoy your own homemade dishes in the best possible conditions. You can exit the park through the shop from 11:30 a.m. and return to the park. For those who are really thirsty or want to take a refreshing break, our kiosks offer cold drinks and ice cream to complement your meal.

Car park

Is parking free?

Absolutely! And even better: you can return to your car during the day and re-enter the park. To do so, simply ask for a stamp from our store staff after 12 p.m. Special parking spaces are provided for people with reduced mobility, buses, and camper vans (during the day only).

Do you have charging stations for electric vehicles?

Not yet!

Animals

Are dogs allowed in the park?

Our four-legged friends (except guide dogs for the blind or visually impaired) are not allowed in the park, no matter how well-trained they may be. To temporarily compensate for their absence, you will have the pleasure of encountering many semi-wild animals during your visit who will come to meet you. Don't leave your dog in the car! You can benefit from preferential rates at the Staffelfelden kennel:

Aren't the animals in the park unhappy?
The entire Park team works with the utmost respect for its animals. They are tame. We don't force them to obey. Taming is something that is often overlooked. It means "building bonds." We must be very patient to gradually approach them and build their trust in us. Most of them roam semi-free and are happy to return home on their own in the evening. We are fortunate to be able to offer you a unique acrobatic pigeon show where the animals perform aerial feats, thanks to the time and patience of their keepers.
